Hey Taao, thanks for your comment though I must admit I found it somewhat snide :) These issues weren’t fixed as far as I knew when I wrote this article — even though you claim so, my experience was still the same. I’m not sure what the point of that comment was other than to, I don’t know, call me a liar.

First off, I don’t want to use 3 programs for something 1 program could easily solve. Design, prototyping and handoff are one and the same thing in my book. When I design something I’m not interested in just the flat version I wanna see how it works and looks on different devices as well as the flow itself. So I’m happy Figma has decided to embody all three because having to maintain, manage (and pay for) 3 different accounts with 3 different services in order to do my job is just crazy.

Second, there are actually some major issues with passwords in general and if you’re any form of interaction designer, you should know this. People don’t make secure enough passwords, they forget them and they won’t necessarily trust password managers though they’ve become somewhat popular. A lot of password creation flows have terrible UX. There’s a reason a big player such as Apple is using facial recognition on their phones. If you Google it there’s plenty of articles on the subject for example this one. So if me and my team aren’t able to keep track of all our passwords it’s because we’re humans.

And lastly, if designing products have taught me anything it’s that if you don’t find the functionality you need in a product then that product simply isn’t designed well enough or that feature isn’t obvious enough.
